Online Exchange 2023

On  May 9 2023, An online exchange event took place between 32 students of  second-year class at Fukuoka Maizuru High School and 14 students in the Japanese language class at Brauer College, Australia.
For the third time since 2020, we held a True of False quiz competition with Mr Chris Flynn, an FAJS steering committee member and professor at the Kyushu Institute of Information Sciences, who was the MC for the first time.
Students asked each other quiz questions they made by themselves about their countries or their schools in both English and Japanese.

Some of the questions from Brauer students were:

The questions form Brower students were such as..

'In Australia we eat koalas for breakfast. Koalas are delicious' (the answer is of course 'F').
'We study Japanese upstairs at Brauer College' (F)
'There are penguins in Australia' (T)

And from Maizuru High School students asked....

'Fukuoka Maizuru Highschool has over 1,000 students enrolments.' (F)
Cars in Japan are must drive on the left side of the road. (T)
The telephone number of the Japanese police is 911. (F)

Teachers also helped with the questions.

Everybody seems to have enjoyed The online exchange quiz competition.

The local winners  received prizes from the Fukuoka Japan Australia Society. The winners from Brauer will get the prizes when the youth delegation visits Warrnambool in late July.

We would like to thank everyone who cooperated.
